20th JUNE 2020 ICAOSA ELECTIONS.

Fellow ICAOSA

In the global pandemic that we find ourselves, I pray that we will neither fall victims nor lose our loved ones by the grace of the Almighty God.
Some days ago, I posted on behalf of the ICAOSA 2020 Electoral Committee, the Interim Guidelines and draft Nomination Form for the June 2020 Elections.
It is very gratifying that majority of our members responded with various observations, suggestions, criticisms etc, which shows a participatory membership that values the work of the Committee.
I must confess that the Committee’s work has been a herculean task, a very onerous job but you made it easier by your supportive role. For this we are very grateful.
Consequently, as a responsive Committee, we have taken note and accommodated all shades of opinion within the ambit of both the ICAOSA Constitution and the doctrine of necessity to come up with the final works in the Electoral process.

4th May 2020 is the eve of the commencement of the Electoral Process with the collection of Nomination Forms by candidates.
To facilitate this, I will post on all our Platforms the following:
-The amended, final Electoral Guidelines.
-The adjusted, final Nomination Form.
-The summary of Election Timetable.

I wish to implore everyone: our Elders, Class-Set Coordinators and all members both at home and in diaspora to see the Election as a call to duty to serve our Alma mater.
This is no time to sit on the fence for we are all “labourers”/ “workers” in the Vineyard of Ibadan City Academy.
The collation of the Electoral process was a product of all of us, so let us wake up to the call to duty. Duty has called and we must answer.
Together, we will rewrite the history of Ibadan City Academy and ultimately of ICAOSA.
Class-Set Coordinators should identify and encourage members to come forward to participate in the Election.

God bless you all.
By God’s grace and mercy, we will survive the Corona virus pandemic.
PLEASE KEEP SAFE ALWAYS.

UP ICA !
GREAT ICAOSA !

Yetunde Awofuwa Esq mnae mnim fcipa
Chairperson, 2020 ICAOSA Electoral Committee.
4th May 2020.

Happy Birthday ROT

WORDS ARE NOT ENOUGH
Good Evening House.
I am speechless and embarrassed by the encomium showered on my by all and sundries on my 70th birthday quiet celebrations.
Am indeed grateful to the Exco, Social & Welfare Committee and the entire House of ICAOSA for organizing the E-Birthday Batch accompanied with Cake yesterday.
It was a novelty that thrilled my entire household and it brought colour to the celebrations.
What do I have to give in return for all these overwhelming generosities, but to say God bless you all Ajose wa o ni baje o. We will all get to 70 and surpass it in Jesus name.

Many thanks

R. O. Titiloye(PG)

HURRAY IBADAN CITY ACADEMY ELETA, IBADAN TURNS 71 !!!

HURRAY IBADAN CITY ACADEMY ELETA, IBADAN TURNS 71 !!!

Come Monday 6th February, 2017 all Old Students would gather at Chief T. L. Oyesina Hall, ICA Ibadan to celebrate our School’s founding day at 11.00a.m

Even if you are in diaspora, felicitate with all other Old Boys and Girls through your messages.

ICA 70TH ANNIVERSARY

“IBADAN CITY ACADEMY OLD STUDENTS ASSOCIATION

70TH ANNIVERSARY TAGGED “CITY ACADEMY DAY 2016”

HOLDS TODAY,

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 6TH 2016 AT THE SCHOOL HALL

The opening prayer said.

Recitation of the National Anthem and School Anthem.

The introduction of the Guests was so interesting: The Ex-students started introduction one by one: The name and the year of graduation. Beside me were Graduants of 1975, 1980 and 1982. I started laughing to see some Dad and Mum who were Ex-ICA like me.

The Association President in his keynote welcome address, he honourably welcomed all and sundry and charged everyone to duty i.e The need to rise and rescue our darling school from destruction.

In his opening remarks, the Chairman buttressed Mr President, he summoned everyone of us to digged into our purse and contribute our own quota to improve the school.

He further stressed that, the Late Timothy Olajide Oyesina, the founder of the Great Ibadan Boys High School, Oke-bola in 1938, Ibadan City Academy, Eleta, Ibadan in 1946 and 11 other schools need to be emulated by everyone of us.

The Late Oyesina had contributed both moral and financial efforts in promoting Nigeria Education where most of us are Beneficiaries and Living witnesses…….We have seen the greater numbers of Medical Doctors, Lawyers, Pharmacists, Permanent Secretaries, Engineers, Accountants and other Professionals attended one of the Thirteen {13} schools founded by the Late Oyesina.

And that if we are yet to build a school of our own, we should be able to ensure we rescue those existing schools, so that, the good works of our heroes past shall never be in vain.

The school Principal, Mr. Sayo Olugbade appreciate the efforts of the Old Students Association in resuscitating the school and he pledged his own support for the Old Students Association towards achieving their aims and objectives.

The motivational talk was handled by Chief {Mrs} B.I. Oluwasakin who was an Old student as well. As a Mother, she advised the present students to concentrate on their studies, abiding by the rules and regulations guiding the school, desisting from playing truancy and not keeping bad company, see all their teachers as their fathers and mothers, assisting their parents at home and see education as a major priority and the very best legacy one could have in life. She crowned it all that, the sky will be the starting point for their achievements in life if they could heed to her advise.

The school’s Cultural group came on stage to entertain the guests. The female were in Ofi, Iro, Ipele, Ileke, and Iyun, while the Male students handled the traditional band sets. It was a dancing of the century by those girls such that, each Ex-students couldn’t hide their joy and came out to sprayed them in New Naira Notes.

Next is the 70th Anniversary-Delebrations. The Great Ibadan City Academy was founded in 1946 and the school had her first set in 1951. The Secretary of the Association, Mr. Adedoja Ekolo started calling each representative of every set to come out and make a pledge of what his or her set will do to rescue the school from the Mess and it all went thus:

1951 to 1940, no representatives.

1941 – Renovation of 4 classroom building.

1942 to 1974, they all promised to go back to their mates to see what they can do.

1975 – Construction of Borehole for the school.

1979 – Renovation of 4 classroom.

1980 – Provision of Chairs and Table for the students.

1981 – The man emphasised it that his set had concluded on the Renovation of 4 classroom building which will starts soon.

1982 – Fifty-two {52} sets of chairs and Tables were promised to bring to the school come next week, and the reminder 48 sets will later be presented to make it 100.

1983 – They happened to be the very Best Set having Renovated 17 water closet Toilets which has been in use by the Students and Staffs already. They had equally embarked on the Renovation of the 4 classroom building and also donated #20,000 to Old Students Bank Account.

1984 – Pledge to provide Security Guards for the school and Foot their Salary.

1986 – Donation of 200 Chairs and Tables for the school.

1989 – Building of 2 classroom and equipped it with 50 chairs and Tables.

1991 – A token of #5,000 was donated today and they promised to do more.

1992 to 1995 – They all promised to meet with their mates and see what they can do.

1996 – Chairs and Tables

1997 – “I let them realised how sad we are with the bad situation of the school and that we are working underground to see what we can do. I told them that, they should be expecting something of reasonable from us as soon as possible.

They twisted me to voice out on which project we wanted to embarked upon but I insisted on meeting you people first. Infact, the ovation was aloud as I was gently treated.

2001 – Two {2} set of furnitures

2003 – {1} Provision of the new school gate {2} Puchasing of English Textbooks for the JSS 1 to SS 3 students.

2004 – He promised to consult his mates and they will do something soon.

The Presidents respond happily and he prayed all our aims and objectives for the school will be materialized by the grace of God.

The vote of thanks by the Secretary, Mr Adedoja Ekolo

The closing prayer follow immediately.

Note: All the invited guests were entertained with light refreshment.
